Joy Chose You by Donna Ashworth; read by Harry Baker
Advent 2023
Advent is a period of preparation and anticipation leading up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. The word "Advent" is derived from the Latin word "adventus," which means "coming" or "arrival." This year, we are using worship materials from Sanctified Art, which investigates the theme 'How does a weary world rejoice?' You will find materials here that will help you explore this idea. Join us in this journey.

Devotionals
Each Advent, we like to provide you with a devotional to help you focus during this extremely busy time. These devotionals are available in the Narthex, the church office or on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. We hope you'll take advantage of these materials.

Advent Calendars
The Advent calendars for this year are created to help you actually live out your faith, no matter your age. While they are available below, we also have copies at the church, so please feel free to pick one (or more!) up.

Christmas Ornaments
During COVID, when we couldn't gather, even during Advent, Reverend Susan made ornaments for each congregant and hung them on the cherry trees in front of the church. Now we're back together and want to hang the ornaments again. Join us after worship on December 3, 2023 to help hang them. Remember to wear something comfy!

Midweek Contemplation and Coffee
Every Wednesday starting December 6, from 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM, the Sanctuary will be open for prayer and reflection with coffee available in the Narthex. Materials to pray individually will be in the Narthex as well. We hope you can take a moment in the busy-ness of the season and center yourself around why we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

St. Nicholas Day Festival
Are you familiar with St. Nicholas, on whom Santa Claus is based? This festival will include so many fun activities for children both old and young. We hope you'll join us in learning about St. Nicholas, a Chili Cook off and an Ugly Sweater Contest. S'mores will also be available.
Sunday, December 10, 4:00-6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall

Winter Wonder Family Walk at Lockerly
We’re going on another family hike at Lockerly, this time to look at the lights. Remember that you have to buy tickets ahead of time- they will not allow you to buy them the day of if you are walking. Make plans to join us in this festive outing on Saturday, December 16 at 6:00PM
Saturday, December 16, 6:00 PM at Lockerly Arboretum

Blue Christmas Healing Service
Christmas can be hard for some of us. Join us in a special service Service of Healing at 11:00 AM on December 24, 2023.

Christmas Eve Service
Christmas Eve lands on a Sunday this year, but have no fear! We will still have our candle light worship service with Communion at 5:30 PM. We hope you'll join us in celebration on this holy day.
