Buffalo dropped last week’s game against the Toledo Rockets 31-13 and fell to 3-6 overall, but retained a positive, 3-2 record in the Mid-American Conference East. Despite the loss, it was a strong performance by Bulls defense, who forced four turnovers during the game, including two fumbles forced by Max Michel and another by Red Murdock.

Now Buffalo will square off with the Bobcats, who share their MAC East record, but are 6-3 overall for the season. Ohio is coming off a 30-16 loss to Miami (Ohio).

Ohio leads the all-time series 16-12 between these teams. Here’s how to tune in on Tuesday.

What: College football regular season game

Who: Ohio @ Buffalo

When: Tuesday, Nov. 7

Where: UB Stadium, Getzville, New York

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET

TV: ESPN2

Buffalo will be in front of their home fans on Tuesday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. The Buffalo Bulls and the Ohio Bobcats will face off in a Mid American East battle at 7:30 p.m. ET at UB Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Buffalo, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-13 loss to Toledo.

The losing side was boosted by Ron Cook Jr., who gained 132 total yards.

Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Ohio last Saturday, but the final result did not. They lost to Miami of Ohio at home by a decisive 30-16 margin. Despite 72 more yards than Miami of Ohio, Ohio couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kurtis Rourke, who threw for 313 yards and a touchdown.

Buffalo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ohio, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

In addition to losing their last games, the pair failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, Ohio is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by seven points. This contest will be their sixth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 2-3 against the spread).

Buffalo might still be hurting after the devastating 45-24 loss they got from Ohio in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ohio's Rourke, who threw for 317 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt.

Before we officially lay out our Ohio vs. Buffalo picks, it’s important to look at how these teams have performed this season, specifically more recently. For the Bobcats, they’ve dropped two of their last three after starting this season at 5-1. This is a team that relies heavily on their defense to not only keep them in games but win some as well. Defensive ends Shane Bonner and Bradely Weaver lead the squad with three sacks a piece.

On the Bulls side of the equation, they’ve now won three of their last five after getting off to a dreadful 0-4 start to this campaign. Although their defense isn’t quite as dominant as their opposition here, Buffalo also relies heavily on that particular unit. Safety Devin Grant has been an absolute nightmare for opposing offenses, as he’s recorded five interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

A loss for either team here would essentially knock them out of the MAC East race with three conference losses on their resume. This is why our Ohio vs. Buffalo prediction sees a close game, as both teams will be fighting to stay alive for a berth in the MAC Championship Game.

The Bobcats have posted some fairly awful numbers on the offensive side of the ball this season, ranking 78th or worse in the nation in most major statistical categories. Their best aspect is the passing game (218.7 yards per game), but that won’t match up well with Buffalo’s 38th-ranked pass defense at just 204.2 yards per game. While the Bulls struggle to stop the run, Ohio hasn’t displayed the ability to consistently run the ball in this campaign.

It’s definitely going to be tough sledding for the Buffalo offense against this stout Bobcat defense, but there may be a silver lining. The Bulls have actually amassed at least 136 rushing yards in three straight outings. Combine that with the fact that Ohio allowed 188 yards on the ground their last time out and Buffalo may be able to do more damage than what’s expected.

Ohio is coming off an extended break after losing 30-16 to Miami of Ohio on Oct. 28 while failing to cover as a 7.5-point home favorite. QB Kurtis Rourke went 25 of 39 for 313 yards and a touchdown in the loss. RB Sieh Bangura had a quiet day with 9 carries for 38 yards but also added a TD.

Buffalo fell 31-13 last Tuesday against Toledo while failing to cover as a 14.5-point road underdog. QB Cole Snyder went just 14 of 41 for 151 yards along with a TD and 2 interceptions while adding 9 carries for 37 yards on the ground. RB Ron Cook Jr. carried the ball 17 times for 97 yards while the Bulls had 173 total yards on the ground.
