The Session: In the Presbyterian Church, USA, the Session is the governing body of a particular church. The Session is comprised of Ruling Elders who are elected by the congregation to serve a three year term. Together with the pastor (Teaching Elder), they exercise leadership and have responsibilities for the life of a particular congregation. The work of the Session is organized into committees.
